THE OLYMPIA SMART TRACK
FROM TRACK TO BENCH TESTING
The Olympia sensorized Smart Track supports the development of Bench Test Methods oriented to the characterization of running footwear, running and gait prosthetics, orthotics, under static and cyclic loading conditions.
Within the Olympia project, several test benches and test methods were developed to support running prosthetics stiffness, strength, and durability assessment, as well as footwear selection.

COLOSSUS 1.0 RPF Test Bench
The Colossus 1.0 test bench in the biaxial configuration is used to characterize running prosthetic feet by applying independent loads in the vertical and horizontal directions at different inclinations of the ground surrogate.

Prosthetic Socket Test Bench
The Colossus 1.0 test bench is used for testing prosthetic sockets and components following the ISO 10328 regulatory standard.

COLOSSUS 2.0 Tilting Ground FULL STANCE SIMULATOR
The Colossus 2.0 is a three-degree-of-freedom test bench that can simulate the stance phase by reproducing loads and rotation angles acquired in vivo. It is used to characterize daily use and running prosthetic feet.

RGS Tilting leg ROBOTIC GAIT SIMULATOR
The RGS gait simulator is a three-degree-of-freedom test bench that simulates the stance phase by reproducing loads and rotation angles acquired in vivo according to the tilting leg concept.
The OLYMPIA track gave input to several testing benches developed for evaluating FOOTWEAR and PROSTHESES engineering and biomechanical properties.
